So I absolutely love reading but my gf(f17) never really got into it
I started reading one of my favorite books to her a while ago( The Ranger's apprentice) and we both enjoy it alot, although it's theme caters more to my personality

Her 18th birthday is in two weeks and I want to know if you guys think ACOTAR is a good first read for her, she likes fantasy and adventure themes and she loves shows like
    Bridgerton etc.

Also please add any other suggestions of books you think be good gifts for her.
    Thanks in advance

One of my fav books of all time is **The Princess Bride**, which was also adapted into a movie in the 80s that is right up there with Monty Python and Mel Brooks as an iconic hilarious movie on a shoestring budget. Not sure if you are too young to know about the movie, but the book is even better.

Last Christmas, my boyfriend recorded himself reading the entire book because he knows I like to listen to audiobooks to fall asleep. Needless to say, I have no idea how he’ll ever top that gift.

But it’s funny, and sweet, and has a bit of a Bridgerton vibe (though none of the sex, just sort of period piece with beauty and some palace intrigue). Definitely the OG romantic comedy.

Why not get her the first Bridgerton book? They are good easy reads.

She might also enjoy The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

It sounds like she might like ACOTAR since it does both fantasy & romance. For romantic fantasy with historical themes (like Bridgerton) there’s also Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater, The Midnight Bargain by CL Polk, The Wisteria Society for Lady Scoundrels by India Holton.
