This book plays with mythology in really creative ways. It doesn't to my knowledge incorporate existing myths, however reading it feels mythic and epic. There are some similarities to Gaiman's American Gods but it is much faster paced. I couldn't put it down and I am about to reread the first half to figure out what happened, similarly to the way I reread Dune.
Trigger warning. Child abuse, torture, animal death.
If you read it, what did you think?

Hi! I’ve noticed that you might be interested in Scott Hawkins, author of The Library at Mount Char. He [did an AMA here](https://www.reddit.com/r/books/comments/3j8ndd/im_scott_hawkins_author_of_the_library_at_mount/?) you might want to take a look.
