I love fantasy so much, and I breezed through the elderlings verse by Robin Hobb so fast that I almost regret it. I wanted to hop on the ACOTAR train because I heard it was fantastic, but was honestly disappointed with it. When I was buying it from the bookstore, I had a conversation with the cashier about the book and how much she loved it. She said she loved it, but the first 200 pages would be boring, and to hang in there. Turns out she was referring to when the romance started, and I totally disagreed with her. The first 200 pages was the best. The world building was interesting, even if it didn’t make sense at times. HOWEVER, the “romance” in that book was ASS. I don’t dislike romance, I freaking love it. But it was rushed and strained, and weirdly too sexual. Was not freaky in the good way.
Anyway enough about my stupid rambling, i need a new fantasy serious, one without god awful romance that ruins the goddamn thing.
Anyone got any ideas?
