I've noticed that present tense is becoming much more popular. I don't like present tense. I don't think it flows as well in a story and I think it's very limiting. Also, every time the story switches to past tense to talk about something that happened and then picks back up in present is jarring and really disrupts flow.

What do y'all think? Have you noticed this? Does it bother you? Do you prefer one over the other?

    1. I don’t like books written in present tense. It makes me think the author is a juvenile or noob.

I generally despise books set in the present tense, and consider it a perfectly valid reason to DNF or not even start a novel.

There are some exceptions worth making, though – *Wolf Hall* being a prime example.
