I’m trying to get into the genre that appeals to the bored housewife persona (I say this because plenty of men can and do read these books as well) but I also want to read the best of the best of this genre and subgenres.

I’ve read *The Crawdad Sings* book and then watched the film and it was way too far fetched for me. The protagonist could do no wrong. If you make recommendations like this book please let me know its strengths and weaknesses.

I’d love some books that really speak to a female audience while also offering a great mystery or reveal throughout. Or anything in between. What are your thoughts?

    1. The Wife Between Us: Greer Hendricks/Sarah Pekannan – good twist, well written dual perspective
Wrong Place Wrong Time: Gillian McAllister – plays with time in a unique way
The Last Thing he Told Me: Laura Dave – I liked the domestic mystery of this one without being completely outlandish
Truly Devious: Maureen Johnson – this is YA but I enjoyed the boarding school mystery and the dual storyline
