My 15 year old used to be an avid reader up until he turned about 10. Ever since it’s been a steady decline to where he is now. Which is just being on his phone.

I refuse to force him bc that’ll just make him hate reading more. But I always tell him about awesome books I’m reading, and reminisce about books I’ve read in the past that were really enjoyable.

It’s not working. He thinks reading is pointless because out of everyone in my social circle and our family, the only people who read a lot are me and his mom.

Please suggest books that are super fun and exciting that might rekindle his love for reading! Any genre. Anything. Books are so good about enriching our lives and I want him to learn to lean into books and stories during the quieter moments in his life instead of scrolling short form content on his phone.

Have you tried listening to audiobooks together? What about graphic novels?
