I like how Reddit is just talking about books and cares little for the aesthetics in taking pretty pictures. I feel people talk more deeply about books here.

Twitter is mostly poor and not many people actually discussing books. Also, too many low effort self published authors spamming the app to get views (seems inauthentic).
-
Instagram is one of the most balanced as its a blend between mere aesthetic pictures with some people really discussing and sharing their love for books.
-
Tik Tok is mostly faddy and personality driven but there is still value on there if you follow a handful of key pages.

Facebook is the most disappointing in a way as so many people use it and yet theres almost no high quality book groups on there. I've tried searching under so many different tags and found so little high quality discussions on books.
What do you all think?

I’m trying to figure out where I fit to discuss books as someone who is kinda new to reading as a steady hobby.
I don’t care much for taking pictures, when I read a book I really just want to talk about it and unpack with others. I can’t even find an active book club in my area.
Reddit would probably be the best for that in my opinion though
I’m more likely to engage in conversation on Reddit, but I get a lot of my really good recommendations from Instagram. I’ve been able to curate my Instagram feed to follow people who have really similar taste to me. With Reddit, I also get recommendations from more genre specific subs rather than the broad ones like this.
I do however think you can curate any of those social media’s to find what you want – for example I don’t use Facebook much but I’m in a great book club thats main page is on Facebook.
I also know of a lot book pages people like on Facebook, they just might take a little more finding.
