I really loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and also love that era in general (been working through Marilyn Monroe movies). Fiction is preferred but I would also enjoy nonfiction about the time as well! TIA

Have you read The Big Sleep? It’s a novel set in L.A. and I think it may have the “feel” you’re after. I haven’t read any of Raymond Chandler’s other books – others here may have some insight there that I lack.
