Check out Neil Gaiman (you can start anywhere, it’s all great), and I really liked *Binti* by Nnedi Okorafor. Also *Blindsight* by Peter Watts. The Locked Tomb series by Tamsyn Muir seems to be a polarizing discussion, but you absolutely cannot miss the first book in the series, *Gideon The Ninth*.
