"The Pennwood Haunting" is probably the best fictional book I've read on the paranormal and here's why. It had a great storyline and the characters were really developed well and fun. But what I really liked was the apparent research that the author did into the technical side of paranormal investigations. I saw that the author mentioned Dr. Barry Taft and if anyone in the paranormal world recalls he is the parapsychologist who investigated the famous case that the book and movie "The Entity" was based on. The author wraps a really good fictional story around teaching you some of the non-fictional theories on the paranormal and the 'real' equipment used in paranormal research. The author is able to do this in an entertaining way, you won't be bored. The book is longer than most, but a real page turner and I didn't want it to end. I got pretty caught up in the lives of the characters. This is the type of book you want more of and it would be nice to see this turned into a series, but I doubt that will happen. Would love to find more books like this one.
