Generally speaking, any book is almost always better than the film/show.
I recently watched the show “3 Body Problem”, which I loved. I was pleasantly surprised, since I could barely get through the book (by Liu Cixin).
I loved the story, premise, and plot elements, but the actual writing style & dialogue was garbage to me – I felt like I was reading fan fiction. I mostly chalked this up to the book originally being written in Chinese and then translated to English – maybe something lost in translation and/or cultural differences. Bad enough that I stopped after finishing the first book.
What are some other examples of books which, in your opinion, are outshined by their screen adaptations?
