I was texting a guy and mentioned a book I was reading. He reiterated the synopsis to me, but it seemed like he asked ChatGPT to summarize it so he could impress me or something, and it mentioned a plot fact that is not surprising to me, but now I don’t feel like reading it because I’m underwhelmed with how it will turn out. It’s a long, classic novel that is many people’s favorite, and I’ve been taking my time reading it slowly on the subway. I guess I’ll never mention what I’m reading again, which sucks because I don’t really have a lot of hobbies other than reading lol. How do you deal with this? I know there’s more to reading than the plot, but I’m honestly bummed out. I wish there was a potion that could make me unknow things. What do I do now?

I’m mildly annoyed then I get over it. Generally any novel that’s ruined by being spoiled isn’t really worth reading to me.
