I recently just had a baby girl & I want to get her books for me to read to her as she’s growing up about strong, powerful and impactful women of all backgrounds throughout history. I’ve seen some on social media throughout the years but I can’t remember any of the ones I’ve seen. TYIA (:

      Anne of Green Gables.

Anne is an absolute heroine. She had such a sad, difficult start in life yet she still finds joy and wonder in the world around her. She becomes a beloved daughter and friend. She’s smart and ambitious. She’s just wonderful!

    3. The suffragette movement has a lot of books . The Harvey Girls. Of course Amelia Airheart. Babe Didrickson , Katherine Hepburn, The women of the space program. Shirley Temple Black , she was Ambassador to Egypt after acting. The first black millionaire was a woman. I believe there’s a book about her. Shirley Muldowney. Annie Oakley and her husband are really interesting. Very good business people as well as skilled shootists and entertainers. Bunch of books about the women pilots of WW2. Book called Code Girls WW2 American code breaking. Carol Burnett’s story is heart warming. She would tug her ear every show to tell her grandma she was thinking of her. Some fiction westerns and non fiction books described a woman and families trials on the plains. Little House on the Prairie and Conagher by Lewis L Amour are 2 . Dorothy Parker and the incredible Nellie Bly. Dolly Parton .I am not a person with a wonderful memory and I know I am forgetting hundreds of stories. My daughter’s favorites are the last 3 . I spent a few years trying to get her to read Dorothy Parker . Then she starts quoting her from another source. I asked her if she knew who she was quoting. Nope. Now she has read her.
