I read The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches back in July and I want to feel the same feelings I felt when reading that book. It does not need to be witchy but if it is great, doesn’t need to be fantasy…I’d like it to have a sweet romance.

I feel like Legends & Latte’s gets suggested a lot for a cozy read but I did not like it at all, 1 star almost DNF’d. Just thought I’d mention that in case anyone comes to suggest it lol.

    1. *Star Daughter* by Shveta Thakrar is about a teenage girl who has lived her whole life on Earth, despite her mother being a celestial being. The girl has to go to the celestial realm for a rite of passage and there she learns about her powers and why her father wanted to keep her away from her mother’s family. It has a beautiful setting and you’re so happy for the girl to come into her own.

*The Essex Serpent* by Sarah Perry is set in 1800s England about a young widower pursuing her dreams of being a naturalist by tracking down the mysterious beast that is haunting the waters of a small fishing town. It is a little dark, but has a happy ending, and I just felt like I was sitting in front of a crackling fire the whole time I was reading it.

    2. The Keeper of Lost Things. Cozy is how I usually describe this book. And it has a sweet romance.

I did start a little slow for me, but I very much enjoyed it when I got into the heart of the story.

The most similar thing to Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches I have read is:
The Only Purple House in Town by Ann Aguirre. Same kind of cozy feeling, magical, found family, just lovely. If you liked Irregular Witches, you’ll love this one.
