I'm looking for book suggestions that follow the plays of Shakespeare, not just books "inspired" by Shakespeare (think, 10 things I hate about you movie – I get that it's based on Shakespeare but I'm looking for something more direct) And not historical fiction based on his life, I want to learn the characters of the plays.
I have enjoyed the books Circe by Madeline Miller and The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker because they follow Greek mythology so closely that I feel like I learned the details of the myth stories while reading them.
So, kind of like Shakespeare-play-historial-fiction?
Any suggestions?
