OK I tried this before and people seemed to get the wrong end of the stick.
I have just finished the Patrick O'Brien books. I really enjoyed them and I am looking for well-written books set around the same period. BUT the thing I liked about them was NOT that they were age of sail naval fiction, but the style of writing, general historical background etc.
I'm essentially looking for well written fiction set in the regency / Georgian period which is written from a man's point of view (not Jane Austin rip offs). I also tend to prefer writing with likable characters
Can anybody help?
