So I've been trying to get into reading for the past years but no book hooked me, I then realised that I didn't empathies with any character and so whenever anything character related came out the book would become a slog as I stoped reading as much and would start hating the book. So I eventualy quit the book after the 4th consecutive chapter about a chatacter I cared so little about I didn't even remember their name. Are there any books that have a good narrative where the characters are treated more like plot devices?

Have you tried reading nonfiction? There are many captivating nonfiction books that don’t delve into the “character’s” thoughts and feelings (since they were real people) and focus more on the events they were involved in. Something like Endurance or The Indifferent Stars Above might interest you.

Almost all genre fiction is plot driven rather than character driven. Sounds like you would particularly like thrillers like the Reacher series by Lee Child.

    3. A book where the characters donkt really matter is, “Inherit the stars”

It’s a mystery where everyone is trying to solve how there is a dead man on the moon who died there before humanity evolved.

Edited to add: My mistake. I meant before recorded history. 50,000 years ago.

Perhaps the “Foundation” novels would be a good fit? The characters come and go very quickly but the story goes on and it is the focal point of the books.
