I really enjoy reading nonfiction books and learning about all sorts of things. However, the ones I've been reading recently have been pretty grim and miserable reading.
I just finished Ultra-Processed People which is an explanation of how the world and society are pretty much screwed due to the actions of food production companies. Killer Show, the book about The Station fire, the deadliest in American history, was fascinating but understandably upsetting reading.
I also just finished reading a bunch of books about how social media and algorithms have essentially caused the degradation of society.
I'm looking for something that will be an interesting read while also not making me lost all hope with world.
All recommendations welcome. Cheers!
