I loved how it was written: not like a boring, sterile documentary, but not just a collection of journal entries, either. I've always been fascinated by the Amazon and the Congo, as well as Antarctic exploration. River of the Gods and Hero of the Empire are both very high on my list, but I'm open to other suggestions! What other books would you all recommend?
