Cant remember my favorite book
Okay so basically i used to read this one book as a kid (12-14) and lately i have been wondering and searching for it but i cant remember the title… but i have a few memories about the book so !Spoilers ahead! And please help me find it
-The Story-
Its an dystopian world woth very dirty air and people get sent to other planets to work there and earn money (it later is revealed that its not different planets but times) and the protagonist has a brother and the brother gets sent away before him and then the protagonist wakes up on a boat in the ocean and he has to help the crew of the ship with catching fish. The captain is low key obsessed with some narwhale type fish (i think it killed his wife not sure tho) and the smaller fish are called pinkies. They manage to capture the big ass fish and the protagonist ends up on an island where the inhabitants worship a group of shipsmen who got there ages ago. The protagonist falls in love with a girl that even teaches him how to swin and in the end he finds the crutches of his brother and realizes that the shipsmen that are worshiped were actually the crew his brother was sent to begore him and that it was the same planet in a digferent time
-Extra stuff-
-I remember the cover being blue, maybe there was waters with big and small sillouhettes of fish depicted
-the title could have been something like "deep" or sum but i am not sure
And finally it is to note that i live in germany so the book could very well be a germany exclusive
