Hello! Going out of town & looking for a book to bring! I love reading non-fiction about people with unconventional lives.
Some previous books I've really loved are:
The King of Confidence – about a man who tried to become the leader of the Mormon Church after Joseph Smith died. His life was wild with multiple wives, a ship army and even magic.
The Sound of Gravel – a book about a girl who grew up in a polygamist family and all the things it entailed
The Lost Girls – a book about the survivors of the Cleveland kidnapping
The Girl on the Velvet Swing – a book about a model at the turn of the century involved in a murder scandal
Oneida – a book about the history of the silverware company, which involves a sex cult
I work in film so I'm not super interested in reading about actors or directors.
