The premise is that she’s Sherlock Holmes’s Mrs which doesn’t sound promising BUT she’s a strong and intelligent female lead, the mysteries are convoluted and the settings are glorious! Especially Dartmoor in “The Moor” and “The Game” set in India.

    2. You might like Elly Griffiths’, The Crossing Places (first book in the Ruth Galloway series). A forensic archaeologist and a detective inspector team up and solve a murder. The setting is in England and I loved the characters and the mystery. I think her novels have an Anne Cleeves vibe that you might enjoy.
