I am looking forward to buy a book this month
My favorite genre is horror and I would highly appreciate if anyone recommends me one.
I am generally not a huge fan of modern horror, and I like victorian horror.
Thanks!!

If you’re wanting to give modern horror another try, I have 2 recs that are really great:
– The Eyes Are The Best Part by Monika Kim
– Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Huang

Summer of night by Dan Simmons, it gives stranger things vibes. The terror also by Dan Simmons, polar exploration in the 1800s with a terrifying monster. The girl who loves Tom Gordon by Stephen king, little girl gets lost in the woods and stalked by monster. The Stand by Stephen king and Swan Song by Robert McCammon both post apocalyptic horrors both very good.

Mary Reilly by Valerie Martin. A retelling of Jekyll and Hyde from a different perspective.

Perfume by Patrick Suskind is a translated horror (unless you speak german) about a man with a perfect sense of smell who becomes obsessed with a smell he found once and chronicles his life as he tries to bottle the scent of his dreams

Weaveworld by Clive Barker had me enthralled when I read it. Albeit 30 years ago. I don’t know how well it has aged but it might be worth a go
