Non-Fiction / Memoir in which the author reflects on traumatic childhood and confronts their parent(s) about their experience?

I love a good cathartic memoir and have read many. There have only been a few in which the author sits down with their parent(s) and expresses their experience / dissects it with them both succesfully, and also dismissed. I find it so interesting and would LOVE to find some great recommended reads of the sort.
