Also try Carl Hiaasen. But for Dorsey, Triggerfish Twist is first. His books aren’t for everyone. They can be really dark, and quite twisted, yet hilarious. I adore them, and own all of them. But don’t forget Hiaasen. Read Skinny Dip, about an unethical biologist in Florida, who throws his beautiful wife off a ship while they are on their anniversary cruise. She survives, and what comes next is some warped, and well deserved revenge.

    2. Big fan of Christopher Moore, too. Which is your favorite? Practical Demonkeeping was my first and still my favorite, but I’ve never read one I didn’t like.

All of Dorsey’s books are about the same person: Serge A. Storms. Serge is batshit crazy, but in a fun way. He’s obsessed with Florida history, road trips, coffee, and inventing intricate deaths for the extremely rude. His best ride-or-die buddy is Coleman, stoner deluxe and enabler for Serge’s ‘projects’. They go around deftly avoiding work, scamming scam artists, and occasionally heading off World War III. The books are more or less independent, so you can start anywhere. The saga begins with ‘Florida Roadkill’, but my personal favorites are ‘Gator-a-Gogo’, ‘Shark Skin Suite’, and ‘The Big Bamboo’. Buckle up, and be ready for an extremely strange time.
