I am trying to get back into horror again. I've been in a real reading slump lately. I tried The Fisherman and The Mountains of Madness, but neither were really doing anything for me.
I might try The Fisherman again at some point. I guess I'm looking for Eldritch/ Cosmic/ Lovecraftian horror that isn't so dry.
I love Eldritch horror, but Lovecraft's work is so dang dry and boring! The concepts are fascinating and interesting, but his writing style bores me to tears.
Cosmic/ Lovecraftian books I've read sort of recently that I did like:
Leech by Hiron Ennes
Sister, Maiden, Monster by Lucy A. Snyder
Cosmic/ Lovecraftian books I've started and didn't love/ were just OK:
Dead Silence by S.A. Barnes
The Fisherman by John Langan
The Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft
Any suggestions?
