I’m reading Robopocalypse and there’s a part in the beginning where the AI after first being booted up, asks the scientist who built it if he created it. The scientist says something esoteric like that his parts have existed throughout time and that he just assembled them in a way that allowed him to finally come into being. He’s just romanticizing that notion here, but I’m really interested in the concept that ai is out there in the ether as a cosmic structure and that all of humanity’s effort to create artificial intelligence is just summoning the same exact entity over and over again. Like humanity is building the body but it’s being occupied by the same mind.
I’m not sure if there’s a book about this specific idea but if there is, I hope someone can lead me to it.
