So, I recently got my hands on “Fourth Wing” by Rebecca Yarros, and boy, was it a ride. Right from the get-go, we’re thrown into this intriguing premise: Violet Sorrengail, gearing up to enter a school that’s not just any school. Think factions, think magic, and yes, think dragons. The catch? She’s aiming to be a dragon rider.

Sounds cool, right? But here’s where things get spicy. Enter Xaden Riorson. Not your run-of-the-mill bad boy, but a leader with looks that could kill (quite literally). And Violet? She’s smitten, even when it seems like he might be the death of her. Their dynamic? It’s… complicated. And while I’m all for a good romance, the detailed account of their, let’s say, “intimate moments” felt a tad overboard for me.

Speaking of characters, there’s Dain. Childhood friend, but with a weird sense of entitlement. Like, boundaries, dude. But the story doesn’t stop at character dynamics. We’ve got dark wizards, epic battles, and plot twists that make you go, “Wait, what?”

By the end, I was left with mixed feelings. The world Yarros paints is fascinating, but there are elements that made me raise an eyebrow. For those who’ve ventured into this world, what’s your take? Did the magic captivate you, or were there parts that felt… off?
