I am finding way too many books that’s spent too much time on characters. You can read for many pages just about thoughts in characters head, and I like to have interesting story to go along with it.
As an example, some of my favorites are project Hail Mary, children of time, and Kane and Abel I also really enjoyed books by Stephen King, not for the horror genre, but because he’s a great writer and his books usually have a great well developed story.

Idk why but for some reason I feel like Nick Cutter is the Andy Weir of horror. Check out The Troop and The Deep.
