I've read Small Favors and Bring Me Your Midnight, which are exactly the kind of vibe I'm going for- (girls specifically 🙂) doing small town tasks like taking care of family stores and farms entwined with a bit of fantasy. I also prefer when the time period is either vaguely or explicitly historical.
I say Stardew Valley-like since these books really reminded me of the game, but as long as the protagonists life revolves around their role in a small town, it's perfect 🙂
