I articulate a little bit: I'm looking for some short stories that have a common theme of "love leads to death," possibly set in the 19th century, that narrate different types of love and how this leads to death or, alternatively, where the protagonist dies just after having found love.
The main examples I have found so far are:
- "Little Herr Friedemann" by Thomas Mann
- "The Girl Who Got Rattled" (the Coen brothers' version)
Maupassant has some stories that go in this direction, but I would like to hear from you if you have any suggestions.
Thank you in advance for your recommendations!
