The Stand: Unabridged by Stephen King. It’s gory but a nice mix of horror and fantasy.

Have you tried Tolkien? You can probably knock out the Hobbit in that time, or get a good start on the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Or if that’s too much maybe the Narnia series. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is an all-time classic for a reason!

Is this for audiobooks to listen to or print books to read?
If you’re not afraid to listen to scary stories about planes, while on a plane, I think Stephen King’s Four Past Midnight is a good choice. It starts with The Langoliers about people on a red eye flight from LAX and wake up mid-flight to find the captain, the crew and most of all the passengers have just vanished off the plane. The other 3 books are fun too. I think the audio book was well done.
I like time-loop stories, so Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver and Neverworld Wake by Marisha Pessl are 2 books about teens caught in a time loop, one is high school characters the other is first year college aged characters.

Dark Matter by Blake Crouch, Fairy Tale by Stephen King, or pretty much any of the Terry Pratchett Discworld books.

Donna Tartt’s The Secret History! It’s probably my favourite book. My brother — who isn’t a reader by any stretch of the imagination — recommended it to me as one of his favourite things, so you know it’s good.

Have you read One of Us is Lying? If not I recommend that. 🙂 It’s easy to read and a total page turner.

If you’re open to middle grade fantasy, the audiobooks of [Nevermoor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/51da4742-ca09-4638-9c93-f13440bff12b) by Jessica Townsend are really good! And it’s my favorite series even as an adult 🙂
