As I go through my books, especially my old childhood books, I’ve found there are many I’ve had to give up. One of my favourite books growing up was “You can’t take Mickey!” It was about a little boy with developmental challenges and his cousins trying to save him from going into an institution. I read it as an adult and to say it didn’t hold up is an understatement. I had to let it go and honestly it was hard even through there was no way I wanted my son to read it.
