Hey, I'm new to this subreddit but I want to get back into reading more books.

When I was younger, I would say that in elementary or even middle school I was an avid book reader.

I have read… Harry Potter (who hasn't lol)

    • The Hunger Games

There are some other dystopian books that I don't even remember apart from one being about Big Brother and stuff.

    The "Arc of the Scythe"

and I would say just books that kids around the school age would read.

I would say that I like the dystopian idea and like reading about it maybe that's where I'll start again.

I dunno that's why I came here 😅 but any suggestions? I do have a high reading level, not sure if that matters.

    Thanks for the help!

I really liked The Grace Year. It’s a dystopian book about a society that sends a group of girls into the woods for a year to rid them of their powers. Idk how much a guy would enjoy it but I would at least read the synopsis on Goodreads or something.
Dragonspell by Donita K Paul is similar to Harry Potter but with a female lead. I haven’t read the whole series yet but it’s pretty good!

When I was your age, I really liked Chuck Palahniuks’ fight club and choke. Also, Michael Chrichton jurassic Park, Sphere, and The Andromeda Strain. Im sure i could name some more like that. Recently read starship troopers as an adult and enjoyed that.

    3. I’m a huge neal stephenson fan, and would recommend Snow Crash and Diamond Age. Neuromancer is also good I think – I haven’t read it in a while.
