Hi! I’m in the planning process of writing a story about an ancient god waking up after thousands of years and having to re-ascend to godhood… with all the slow build pitfalls that come with having to rebuild a following and face a world that’s forgotten them.
I could really do with some story recommendations!
Funny enough, I started planning this story after watching the anime Overlord, (and being frustrated by it lol) but I really enjoy stories about ancient gods having to humble themselves without any power and live amongst humans before they ascend to divine heights. I know this type of overpowered MC usually ends up with a lot of wish fulfillment and unstoppable sues, but I’m really up to check out anything. I think it’s possible to write about this kind of trope even if it’s been done a lot.

But I haven’t come across anything exactly in the same vein as what I’m writing. I could do with some recs!!
