Hi.
I’m looking for a short story collection of high fantasy that does feature at least one story with an emphasis on magic. I’m looking for inspiration and fantasy novels can be very long so that’s why I’m looking for short stories.
I don’t want the stories to connect with one another, but rather I want for each story to be its own world, and have its own vibe. Idk if a short story collection that features different sub genres of high fantasy (like dark fantasy, epic fantasy, etc) exists but if not, I’m willing to check out more than one collection.
I just want to plunge myself into the high fantasy genre more without having to commit to a whole series or other massive 1000+ page books.
Stories I like are: The Witcher, The Lord Of The Rings, The Bloodsworn Saga, Frostheart, and Mistborn. I’m into both lighthearted but still adventurous stories like Frostheart, and all the way into darker stories with flairs of horror like The Witcher. I don’t like grimm dark though so I’m not a fan of things like A Song Of Ice And Fire.
I’m also more into the adventures of average people rather than political focused stories but I’m not against a good political story. Kings and queens can be fun sometimes.
I particularly really do like magic and would like to see more examples of magic since being used. It can be hard or soft magic systems. A collection with stories featuring both would be really cool.
I hope you guys can help me find some cool collections that I can plunge myself in to get a bird’s eye view of the high fantasy genre without having to fully commit to a series or a novel.

PS. I really do prefer modern fantasy stories from like the 2000s and up, if possible.
