I was reading How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix and then my dad revealed to us that he has cancer and it's bad. Anyone who knows what the book is about will understand why I can't keep reading it right now. I was burnt out and stressed before but now I feel like I'm losing my mind. I need something to distract me. I love horror, YA, fantasy, but I'm not super picky.
I just desperately need something entertaining to take me out of my own life into a more fanciful one

I sympathize with what you are facing.
The most entertaining book I’ve read recently is John Scalzi’s **Starter Villain**. To give you a feel for it, it’s a spoof of the early James Bond movies. A substitute teacher inherits his estranged uncle’s villainy which comes complete with a secret volcanic lair.
