Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy, the book left me staring out empty. Kudos for anyone would read it for entertainment

Was pretty creeped out after reading In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. Regretted oiling the hinges on the doors to my home.

I usually don’t have a problem with recovering but I just finished My Dark Vanessa and it still weighs on me a bit. Also had to put Clockwork Orange down for a couple of days after the rape scene (which didn’t bother me in the movie at all).

The Bluest Eye messed me up for a while.
I had to put down For Whom the Bell Tolls for a while after the execution scene.

Outer Dark by Cormac McCarthy.
This book had me staring at my ceiling for roughly an hour after completing it and then for two years I thought about it almost every day. It helped me get through a depression episode that was destroying me but also devastated me. Weirdest and darkest reading experience of my life.

I read James Baldwin – Giovanni’s Room when I was at my early 20s and it honestly gave me a complex about love, life, and my homosexual future for a while lmao. It’s so visceral.

The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. Honestly, what a mindfuck that book did to me, amazing!
