6. Open Water by Caleb Azumah Nelson
7. Still Waters by Matt Goldman
1. [Fortune Favors the Dead](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/eb8c7ae9-41b0-442b-b3f1-8e01870fe219) by Stephan Spotswood
2. [Six of Crows](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/391f935d-2dba-4d81-9cea-5cabe39ec757) by Leigh Bardugo
3. [The Hands of the Emperor](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/af2bba9c-8f41-4a3e-b87a-8532a44ccb67) by Victoria Goddard — it’s a (very long) beautifully written slice of life book about the personal secretary to the emperor of the world, with a heavy focus on platonic relationships.
8. [A Kind of Spark](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/acb93e08-d91c-46db-9470-1928195281a4) by Elle McNicoll
9. The Hands of the Emperor also works for this one, and it’s really long, so maybe you could count it for both?
2. Seventh Son, by Joseph Delaney
6. She’s Come Undone, by Wally Lamb
9. The Hour I First Believed, by Wally Lamb
1. A Secret History by Donna Tartt (does the 80s count as historical?)
2. Ducks: Two Years in the Oil Sands (this is a graphic novel, but it’s both literary and very good)
3. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North has an incredible bromance with crazy twists
4. Heartburn by Nora Ephron (she also wrote When Harry Met Sally) is incredibly funny and has many recipes.
5. I don’t know
6. My copy of Women Talking by Miriam Towes has women’s silhouetted faces on the cover. Great book! Very sad, but surprisingly funny
7. I don’t know
8. Interesting Facts About Space by Emily Austin. Full disclosure, I’m only about halfway through this book, but I loved Austin’s other book, and I think this main character could be autistic.
9. The Bridges of Madison County by Robert James Waller. A really lovely romance featuring two older people. I liked it a lot more than I thought I would!
