I'm 20 years old and trying to kick my technology addiction, so one of my ideas was to get back into reading. I used to be a massive bookworm when I was younger but ever since I got a smartphone my book consumption quickly declined to the point where I haven't fully read a novel in years. I have this gross misconception that novels for adults are boring but the few books I did pick up and read never really had me engrossed and itching to turn the page like they used to. I really miss that feeling and would love to experience it again. Some of my favourite authors were Rick Riordan, Antony Horowitz, Alex Sparrow, Derek Landy and Charlie Higson. So I think I have a penchant for action/thriller novels. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I love Derek Landy and Rick Riordan too! I highly recommend “The Good Son” by You-Jeong Jeong— I finished it in one sitting and it got me out of a reading slump. It’s a fast-paced thriller.
Check out Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry. He has a pretty good pace/formula that gets me turning that page. He also has a young Adult zombie series that is good too.
And don’t discount the discount bin. Clive Cussler is usually fun to read. Sahara and Dragon were. I’d love to read more Dirk Pitt novels.
