Anne Frank’s writing style

I just finished reading the diary of Anne Frank and some of her short stories. I already have read parts of it in school but I had only now read it as an adult with a fair amount of experience in literature.

I am still blown away at how much I liked her writing and the prose of the diary that it got me asking whether I just imagined it to be so good because of the known circumstances of her being a teenage girl hiding from the Nazis and her fate in 1945 or whether it was actually that good. To me it felt like, with her, we lost one of the greatest writers of the past century.

So I wanted to ask other people who have read the diary as an adult if they had the same feelings about her writing or whether it was only my imagination and she really did have more of an inexperienced prose as one would expect from a 14-year old.
