I read desert solitaire by edward abbey and loved it. The imagery he uses, the stories, and just day to day life of someone completely immersed in their environment. The only problem I find with it is that by about 3/4 of the way through the book I'm tired of hearing about the desert, I guess I'm just not a desert guy. So I'm hoping somebody knows some great nature writing with a similar style, but coming from a different environment. Preferably swamp/marsh/wetlands but alpine will do in a pinch. Thanks in advance!
