I've recently been revisiting Red Dwarf and it got me thinking that it's a bit unusual in that the novels were written alongside the TV show and by the same creators.
It's much more common that a book is written then later adapted, with varying degrees of input from the original creator, or that a show/movie spawns spinoff novels written by someone else.
What are other examples of the writer of the book and the writer of the screenplay being one and the same, and producing the two simultaneously?
