Hey folks, I've recently read 'Empire of The Summer Moon' by SC Gwyn and 'Blood and Thunder' by Hampton Sides, telling the history of the frontiersmen, miners, indian tribes and their shfting alliances, indian religion, etc. The books take place in Texas and New Mexico respectively.
I live in Denver/Boulder– any recommendations of books that take place at least partly in this general area, or around the Rockies near here? I am especially interested in the cultures of the native tribes here in the early days of Anglo contact, the Arapahoe, Utes, Cheyenne, etc.
I'd love to be driving around town or down i70 and to see the landmarks of a lost history!
