I am looking for an absolutely mindless romance novel as a summer read while camping (2-3 of them would be best).
Criteria:

Romance is the central element. Historical fiction romances/romantasy is fine if romance is the main gig

spice level 2-4/5. Not bland, but not straight erotica

must not be trope upon trope upon trope. I understand that tropes are a fact of life in romance. But nothing too cheesy. On the cheese level I want a sharp cheddar. Not a mozzarella or a Limburg.

not a mainstream author or dime store novel. Nothing against Jude Devereaux or Emily Henry, just not my vibe.

a one of author/small publisher/self published would be ideal.
