    Hello everyone,

Welcome to the fourth and final discussion thread for the October selection, *My Heart is a Chainsaw* by Stephen Graham Jones! This thread will be openly discussing everything in the book.

Below are some questions to help start conversation; feel free to answer some or all of them, or just post about whatever your thoughts on the material.

    1. What are some of your favorite characters, parts or quotes? Which parts did you find confusing?
    2. Which era or classification of horror is *My Heart is a Chainsaw*? Are there precedents for slashers where there is a human/mundane slasher *and* a supernatural one?
    3. What might the author suggest about the role of trauma in slashers and for a Final Girl? How does the horror of Jade’s dad and their eventual resolution affect the other horrors in the novel?
    4. What marked Jade’s transformation or was her “chrysalis” moments which turned her into a Final Girl (or close to one)? Which moments of Letha’s went against the Final Girl archetype?
    5. What media would you recommend to someone who loved this book and wanted more like it?

There is not planned to be a book club for November. Maybe December. But the future of a monthly club is a little unclear at the moment and will likely resume after a period of regroup. If you have any feelings or thoughts on their continuation, do please sound off below.
