I've been reading A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara for a while now but I just don't want to read it anymore. I know it's known for being depressing but I feel like the book is depressing for no apparent reason.
I have tried reading it twice before ever since I bought this book from a book fair in July last year. I stopped fairly early (at around p. 70-ish) in my first two tries. I picked it up again recently and basically forced myself to read until halfway (p.386), but it's just so depressing that I dread reading it.
Should I just dnf at this point? Other critics have claimed that it's very good, especially at the end, but should I continue reading? Advice is appreciated!

You are the only critic that matters. I DNF critical darlings all the time. Your taste is your own and reading should be enjoyed. Put it down and move on to the next story.
