Doesnt need to be completely devoid of romance, but any romance subplots either are really really to the side or have a damn good thematic/character reason thats its there
Also, i dislike books that heavily emphasis worldbuilding, which is why I've added 'character focused'
Honestly, i just want a book with really, stupidly easy to absorb prose and from the few YA books Ive read, i think the genre fits?
