Her best friend of 3 years is growing to be more controlling and uncompromising while my daughter is becoming more of a people pleaser and push over as a result. They see each other often at school, camp and sports. It is impacting daughter's self esteem at this point and resulting in tears at home or behavior where she just gives up and lets other kids have their way. She won't even hold her ground. Sometimes she even apologizes after they criticize her.
Suggest me book titles to better understand this. There's so many books about bullying but not about friendships. I suspect the best friend is also on the spectrum but her mom is not aware. Are there kids books about understanding autistic girls better? Friend is growing increasingly unempathetic, info dumps a lot (not allowing my daughter to say anything) and stims frequently. My daughter in the other hand is too empathetic.
