Hello everyone!
I know this topic has been covered before. I've read many of the previous posts already but I'm hoping that I could get some input from you all.
As nice an introduction as "Genghis khan: the making of the modern world" might be. I'm a little turned off by reviews that claim he glosses over the violence and brutality of the time and that his source material is very limited…
I've read good reviews from John Mans works and also David Morgan and I'm wondering if a book from them might be more appropriate for me.
I'm headed to Kyrgyzstan soon so any books from those two authors (or any other!!) that discusses that region, the Chagatai Khanate, while including a general historical overview would be greatly appreciated.
Is "The Mongol Empire" by John Man the book im looking for? or "The Mongols" by David Morgan?
Is there another one im missing?
Thanks so much for any thoughts
